a window pushed open
occasional chill coming in
70% dark chocolate
melting slowly in my mouth
hot and lovely berry tea
in my grandma’s tea cup
navy blue words’ delight
fantasy in the pages

small hole drilled into side of house
hidden behind an unkempt shrub
neighborhood watchman looks in
he makes his rounds protecting the block
but always he stops for a look
into the young woman’s home
and no one thinks anything of it
the watchman lingering around
