brown-haired girl
comes home
to a house she sits
she sees
the familiar red dots
she is watched
the cat meows for food
she obliges
the evening passes slowly
little house noises
keep her company
she lies in bed
she cannot sleep
a light in the yard
she stays still
the feeling of hands
on her shoulders
on her legs
she cannot move
on her throat
she cannot breathe
the house remains
she is not there

slide into bed
roll around

body rocking
car dancing
life loving

a veritable minefield
run!
dive!
play dead.

bigger than my skin

can hardly focus
pleasurable discomfort
I love

turns out
the devil
is 30 something
brown haired
slow and unworried

down to hell
without an intention
