she cuts off another and another
until the plant is bare
then she puts down her snippers
and walks inside into the house

it keeps cool

the coat grows back

the sidewalk is covered in glass
Coca-Cola is across the street
the air smells like fried chicken
what a perfect metaphor

turns his head
legs out in front
vulnerable
at peace

self-professed dog lover
hits dog while driving
does not stop

two cars with blue and red lights
swerve erratically across 8 lanes
they are slowing the whole freeway
scary and powerful, they probably laugh
