on Europa:
take a high speed elevator
up to one of six viewing stations
gaze through thick clear plastic
up at the Jupiter gases
turn around and feel the chill
of the universe and faraway Sun
poetry
Poem #492
window
clouds
outside
go
go!
Poem #491
grasshopper squeezes under door
broom sweeps it outside again
Poem #490
skinny coyote in the parking lot
he has no pack
he’s here every night
his howls lack luster
but people are still scared
skinny coyote all alone
Poem #489
the perfect marriage
he proposed to me on our first date
it was magical
his deep brown eyes twinkled
and I was smitten
of course I said “yes”
we’d known each other for years
all my friends said it was odd
my parents were worried
but I loved it
we had our lives to fall in love together
so it must be odd to find out
that I’m now a rotting corpse
six feet under
no one knows where I’m buried
except for him
he was the perfect husband
until one day he snapped
I don’t blame him
I’m waiting here patiently for him
we have eternity to fall in love together
Poem #488
pull my socks to my knees
lie in bed for three hours
roll over a few times
do absolutely nothing
Poem #487
singing songs
tying bracelets
touching toes
Poem #486
a window pushed open
occasional chill coming in
70% dark chocolate
melting slowly in my mouth
hot and lovely berry tea
in my grandma’s tea cup
navy blue words’ delight
fantasy in the pages
Poem #485
on the floor
facing the ceiling
spider up there
slowly he repels
down to me
creeping towards mouth
I don’t scream
Poem #484
flashing green and blue lights
smiling faces and bored minds
we veer off the road
but no one says anything
no alarm as we ride to Hell
