Poem #19

I bumped into you at the store, sorry!
I took too long at the door, sorry!
I stuttered over my words, sorry!
My shoes skidded on the floor, sorry!

I’m sorry
I’m sorry
I wish I wasn’t sorry
But, I’m sorry

I’m sorry, so sorry

No matter what I do
One mistake or two
Apology, I spew
You say none are due
It doesn’t matter too

I take up too much space, I’m sorry
Can’t control my face, I’m sorry
Want to enter this place, I’m sorry
Trying to win this race, I’m sorry

I know I need to stop
But it’s not so easy
‘Cause if I don’t, I’m rude
If I do, I’m weak

I’m sorry
I’m sorry
I wish I wasn’t sorry
But, I’m sorry

So sorry

No matter what I do
One mistake or two
Apology, I spew
You say none are due
It doesn’t matter too

I don’t know why I apologize
I don’t know why I care
I don’t know why I empathize
I don’t know why you don’t

No matter what I do
One mistake or two
Apology, I spew
You say none are due
Doesn’t matter to
Me

I’m sorry.
